Survey Methodologist

Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a Survey Methodologist to join our internationally respected, highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The position supports improving survey procedures and capabilities and conducting methodological research. 

Job Responsibilities:
• Works as a survey methodologist on a variety of survey projects.
• Supports development and implementation of survey procedures to improve survey efforts, including, but not limited to questionnaire design, use of paradata, pretesting methods, methods to increase response rates, experiments with surveys and survey error evaluations.
• Conducts literature reviews, codes qualitative process data, implements statistical analyses, and prepares pre-testing materials and conducts qualitative interviews.
• Supports report production and table preparation.

Basic Qualifications:
• A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Survey Methodology or related field with course work in survey methods, or a Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field plus equivalent work experience is survey methods.
• Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience related to survey methods.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to work as part of interdisciplinary research teams to implement methodological solutions to address analytic and research goals of the project.
• Interest in participating in publications and conference presentations.

Qualified candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
