Developer Summer Internship

Looking to intern as a Developer in our Technology division? At a time when technology is creating new business models, disrupting industries and creating valuable experiences for consumers, our role as technology team members must elevate an organization through innovative transformation, modernized technology and delivery of new business strategies, including an aim to continuously evolve and enhance the customer experience.
 
What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects you will be contributing to include:
  •  Develop applications and websites using a MEAN Stack
  •  Learn about Wellmark's Architecture and designing solutions
  •  Assist with project work to help design, develop, test, implement, and maintain web applications

This internship will start in May of 2021 and be onsite in Des Moines, Iowa or potentially virtually pending Wellmark's return to office strategy. Our focus will be on ensuring the best possible experience given the circumstances at the time; however, you should plan to be located in the Des Moines area for the summer of 2021.




Qualifications

  • Current sophomore, junior, or senior student pursing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related program
  • Experience/exposure/training or background to include any combination of the following:
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties
  • Ability to set and meet established timeframes while assuring data and information integrity
  • Experience prioritizing and managing time with little direction
  • Previous experience troubleshooting and developing creative technical solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in software development life cycle methodologies
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with the business areas
