IT Intern (P&C Systems) - Summer 2021

What You’ll Do: As an intern, you will work in conjunction with our Property and Casualty (P&C) Systems Team on various applications supporting Property and Casualty business using Java. In this role, you will primarily be working on our P&C Policy Administration system in an Agile environment. The goals to be achieved include specific tactical deliverables that will enable you to learn about technology usage and delivery in a production business environment.
Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or work on projects within your hired work area. Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. Then, the final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will get to really learn about our culture and work environment.
What It Takes to Join Our Team:
- Be a Junior or Senior status, pursuing a college degree in Computer Science / MIS.
- Must have Java language knowledge.
- Have SQL query / SQL Server knowledge is preferred.
- A quick learner who is looking to learn new concepts and ideas.
- Must have strong verbal & written communication skills and be a team player.
- Be possess good problem-solving skills.
- Must be a self-starter, take initiative and be highly motivated.
- Be dependable and able to work 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday during summer 2021 from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
