CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank is seeking a Communications Intern to join its Communications & Development Department. The Communications Intern is responsible for supporting the Communications & Development Department’s administrative efforts by:

  • Creating content for our blog, social media, and e-mail newsletter
  • Assisting to manage website and blog through a Wordpress platform
  • Additional administrative assistance as needed

The intern will leverage excellent verbal and written communications skills in order to help produce newsletter stories, blog content, and social media posts. The Intern must possess a high degree of self-motivation and be passionate about the programs and services of CommUnity. This position will work as part of the Communications & Development and administrative teams and reports to the Communications Coordinator. This is an unpaid internship with a flexible 10-15 hour/week schedule.

Desired Education and Experience:
Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution, working on an associate’s, bachelor’s or graduate degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Candidates should be comfortable communicating with diverse populations and display a commitment to nonprofit communications and social services.
