Portfolio Management Assistant - High Yield

Responsibilities

As a Portfolio Management Assistant, you’ll provide financial and operational support to portfolio management, research and trading teams to aid in the management of portfolios. You’ll monitor daily market developments and portfolio compliance, conduct research and analysis, run and analyze statistical reports, and execute special projects.
 
Day to day responsibilities include:
  • Portfolio Analysis: Analyze portfolio performance, analytics, and attribution by utilizing tools such as Bloomberg, Aladdin and quantitative techniques. Assist portfolio managers by running position reports versus appropriate benchmarks. Review and ensure portfolio compliance to guidelines.
  • Portfolio Construction and Management: Work with portfolio management to establish and implement investment strategy across client portfolios using Portfolio Management Tool (PMT) to develop specific portfolio buy/sell trades to affect the exposure rebalancing.
  • Support Marketing and Client Services: Respond to basic inquires and requests for information (i.e. performance and analytic reports) about investment strategies from marketing, RFP, product management, distribution, consultants and clients.
  • Work with portfolio managers, the research team, the client service team, compliance and senior management to create performance and attribution and other analytical reports to present to both internal and external clients.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field (i.e. finance, accounting, economics, statistics, engineering, data science, business analytics).
  • Ability to understand basic accounting principles and economic theory, interpret financial statements, and efficiently and effectively research, compile and analyze information.
  • Excellent abilities in the areas of communication (verbal and written), Problem solving, time management, analytics and use of Excel required.
  • Collaborative with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships,
  • Manage expectations, work independently, and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous internship in fixed income or related technical field preferred.
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or above, with high marks for quantitative works, and progress towards CFA, MBA preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and fixed income strategies, including general knowledge of bond mechanics and pricing calculations is preferred.
  • Keen sense of curiosity and forward-thinking thought process desired.
  • Previous experience with Bloomberg preferred.
