Head of Product Development
What you will do...
- Direct your team's efforts to develop new products for the market and in close partnership with our customers.
- Provide technical expertise in material / polymer science and coatings.
- Identify and define new technological opportunities to meet current and future market needs.
- Establish project plans and budgets, and manage the development project portfolio.
- Actively participate in customer meetings and projects. Develop and foster contacts with the technical teams of key customers.
- Establish and maintain an effective process for regular review of technical activities and progress on projects.
- Ensure the acquisition of the appropriate range of scientific and technological resources required. Provide on-going training and promote excellence in the fields of technology which support the NFW's strategic interests.
- Maintain adequate records and reporting systems necessary for capturing technology and supporting patent and legal action.
- Recommend capital and expense budgets, manpower levels and the acquisition of fixed technical assets.
- Support operations quality improvement initiatives and closely partner with them on new product scale-up activities.
Requirements
- BS, MS or PhD degree in Chemistry, Material Science or similar degree.
- Minimum of 7 years industry experience in R&D, product development.
- Experience with increasing responsibility in managing industrial development activities that support commercial strategies and company growth.
- Proven track record in innovations and commercializing new technologies.
- Strong proven leadership skills.
- Experience with rubber compounding is a plus.
