Chemical Technician

Are you looking to get your foot in the door as a Chemist? The Doe Run Company is seeking a Chemical Technician to prepare and analyze samples on a daily basis to provide accurate and timely results. This position is located in Viburnum, MO in the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, run and report on production samples.
  • Gather sample data from production work areas and perform appropriate tests.
  • Set up and maintain lab instruments according to established standards.
  • Ensure analysis of samples meets quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • One to three years of experience as a chemist or chemical technician.
  • Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and PeopleSoft.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control standards.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, a respirator, hearing protection and eyewear, and work near moving, mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme cold.
  • Exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, reaching with hands/arms, and repetitive movement.
  • Frequently requires grasping and pushing; occasionally requires feeling attributes of objects, driving, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Requires clarity of vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 5 pounds.
  • Frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
