College Recruiter

Are you passionate about recruiting and excited to work for a company with an amazing Employee Brand? We are looking for a College Recruiter to join our team.

This individual will be based out of either Orange, CA or Pleasanton, CA, but will serve Kimley-Horn’s California Region. We are looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about recruiting (both college recruiting and other roles): The main focus of this role is leading our college recruiting program for our California Region, while also working with nationwide partners in support of our Firmwide College Recruiting efforts. Additionally, this role provides recruiting support for administrative, business and other mid-level positions as needed.
  • Conscious of the candidate experience: This individual will be responsible for consistently providing each student with a high-level of service that translates into a positive and productive relationship.
  • Self-driven: This role requires organizational skills, a desire to succeed, strong integrity and ethics as well as follow-through to drive projects and initiatives to completion.
  • A strong and clear communicator: This individual will be responsible for communicating with internal/external clients via verbal and written communication as well as presenting, training and relationship building.
  • A team player and collaborator: This individual will work with the California Region and the Firmwide College Recruiting teams. They will collaborate on College Recruiting committees to implement creative programs and strategies. They will share resources and support recruiters in other regions to meet Firmwide goals.
  • Confident and influential: This individual will be expected to know their craft and deliver on their responsibilities and recommendations through their confidence and influencing skills.
  • A problem solver and critical thinker: This role requires someone who can use their professional judgement to solve problems with limited daily supervision by using critical thinking skills and a fresh perspective.
  • Day-to-day aspects of the role will include, but are not limited to:
  • Help create the annual college recruiting strategy
  • Coordinate, attend, and/or host campus recruiting events (career fairs, presentations, interview days, etc.)
  • Execute intentional diversity outreach
  • Manage our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) including candidate screening and dispositioning
  • Source and screen candidates from our ATS as well as other creative sources (social media, professional organizations, referrals, etc.)
  • Manage the Summer Intern Program
  • Lead internal recruiting update meetings with group managers
  • Assist the senior recruiter as needed
  • Research and report on different University programs as well as market, maintain and establish our brand on campus
  • Coordinate/manage our office interviewing program (including facilitation of interviewer trainings and post-interview debriefs)
  • Extend offers to intern and collegiate candidates; manage the follow-up communication with the candidate and answer questions about the compensation package

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 0-1 year of professional work experience (agency or corporate recruiting experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Ability to travel (approximately 25% annually)
  • Peak college campus travel seasons include September-October and February-March 
  • Travel locations generally include west coast career fairs and Kimley-Horn office locations
  • Some national travel may be required for firm-wide trainings
  • Please note - due to COVID, we are conducting all our college recruiting virtually. However, when Universities once again welcome guests on campus and we also feel it is safe for our team members to travel, our traditional on-campus recruiting program or a hybrid of it will resume.
