Access Control Manager

This is a fast paced. highly visible administrative manager position that carries the responsibilities for the University's Key Management, Card Access System, & Lock Shop personnel. In addition, this project manages all door, window, & lock installation projects; as well as maintenance & installation of all window coverings & window films. This position is also responsible for general maintenance projects as directed. This position works closely with Building Coordinators, LSU Police, OFS life Safety Team and outside vendors. Also assist the Director and other OFS administrative personnel on special projects.
Job Duties:
  • Administers, manages, and coordinates the Key Control Program, Simple K Key Software and Key Management Procedures and Policies. Works closely with Building Coordinators and Customer Service Center on new Key Request to Insure they get the keys they need but we maintain control over building access. Produces reports and provide them to the Building Coordinators so that audits may be performed. Coordinates with Building Automation on Card Access System. Reviews request for card access, approves them and documents who has access, when they have access and when their access will expire to facilities/buildings. 
  • Administers, manages, and coordinates Lock Shop personnel: preforms personnel review;, prepares/approves time, determines and schedules work, approves leave applications, initiates and follows through with disciplinary actions, requisitions materials subject to budgetary review and controls, determines work priorities and overtime requirements subject to budgetary reviews and control, maintains productivity of assigned personnel. purchase the materials needed for the Lock Shop to perform the work. Coordinate with vendors who provide pre-pin lock cores to insure the cores are pinned correctly and we receive bitting 
  • Coordinates and manages the keying of new facilities/buildings. Reviews plans on specification to insure they conform to our standards. Attend keying meetings with Architects, Contractors, and Users. Coordinate with vendors who provide pre-pin lock cores to insure the cores are pinned correctly and we receive bitting documentation. Coordinates and manages the rekeying of new facilities/buildings Meets with Users to develop arekeying plan and prepares plans and specifications. Prepares purchasing documents to have the building rekeyed by contractor or purchase the materials needed for the Lock Shop to perform the work. Coordinate with vendors who provide pre-pin lock cores to insure the cores are pinned correctly and we receive bitting documentation. 
  • Manages, administers, coordinates and supervises contractors and vendors who are performing building related maintenance modifications and renovation projects. This position is responsible for all door, window, and lock installation/maintenance projects on campus. In addition, this position manages the installation/maintenance of all window coverings & window films campus-wide. Other duties as assigned. 
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
A specific degree in Business, Computer Science, Construction Technology, Industrial/ Engineering Technology and/or 2 years of experience in database management, card access, key control, facility management or building construction.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Due to the nature of this position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67. In accordance with University Policy Statement 18, this position is considered essential and may be required to report or stay on campus in the event of emergency or closure. This position is subject to an office environment and field work. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone/other, office machinery, remain seated for periods of time, bend, squat, twist, move about to accomplish task, ability to receive/ exchange information through oral/written communication, make substantial movements of the wrists, hands, or finger, ability to reach, lift at least 20 pounds, walk, stand, bend, ascend and descend stair throughout the day.
Certifications/ Licenses:
Valid Louisiana Driver's License
