Job Details:

  • Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts
  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
  • Operate computers programmed with Quick Books to record, store, and analyze information
  • Maintain supplier files, correspond with supplier and respond to inquiries
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
  • Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy
  • Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary
  • Calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts
  • Maintain knowledge of all organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases, and provide information about these rules to organization staff members
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
  • Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
  • Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations
  • Locate suppliers, using sources such as catalogs and the internet, and interview them to gather information about products to be ordered
  • Monitor contractor performance, recommending contract modifications when necessary
  • Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence
  • Assist with month end closing
 
Qualifications:

  • Experience with Quick Books is a plus
  • 2 years procurement  experience or Bachelor's degree in accounting, supply chain management, business or a related discipline
  • Understand Sales Tax vs Sales Use Tax is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Passion for negotiating prices, terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping, basic accounting, and general ledger
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Great attitude and desire for self-improvement
  • Enjoy working in a thriving team atmosphere (we really do mean Team)
 
Physical Requirements

  • Frequently walks the manufacturing area to view Kanban during the work day
  • Must be able to move objects occasionally weighing 50 pounds
  • Must be able to occasionally stock items on bottom and top shelves
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information clearly while frequently communicating with vendors and constant operating of computer
