Spring Business Management Intern

As an intern at Chick-fil-A Davenport you will work one-on-one with a director in your field to learn essential skills in your desired career path. Our interns embody Chick-fil-A’s Core Values by working with purpose, optimism in adversity, and teachability—all while putting others first! Interns at Chick-fil-A Davenport learn key aspects of their desired internship through training and staff mentorship. In the final stages of our internship, these lessons are then applied to real-life projects at our restaurant.

Chick-fil-A Davenport’s goal is to work alongside students by satisfying their college, university, or higher education credit requirements. Each student will be given a list of core tasks expected of them in their respective field and a list of elective tasks or projects they may pick and choose from. It is our pleasure to look at each student's needs individually and adjust our programs to fit those needs where we are able. 

Structure of Internships

Each internship is broken into a three-phase process:
  • Month 1: Work as a Chick-fil-A Team Member and complete basic training to better understand what the employment culture at Chick-fil-A is like before leading others.
  • Month 2: Begin working with your department, supervised by the director in your field.
  • Month 3: Incorporate and execute a personal project within your specified field.

Time Commitment & Pay

Interns are hired for 12 week intervals. Positions pay $9 per hour, working a minimum of 20 hours per week. All hours are paid and can be adjusted to the interns schedule. 

Required Qualifications
  • Applicant is 18+ years of age
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to review and demonstrate appropriate comprehension of policies and procedures
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced business and restaurant environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

Business Management Focus


Position Summary

Management interns create effective strategies to achieve business objectives and overcome cost factors, allowing our restaurant to minimize waste and maximize profit. Interns in this track will learn how to handle money, improve Customer Experience Scores, and develop general management skills.

Daily Responsibilities

Service

  • Oversee Team Leaders and Members during day to day operations

Quality

  • Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • Oversee RQA (Retail Quality Audits) performance and evaluate operational improvements as needed
  • Asses CEM (Customer Experience Monitor) quarterly scores, including all OE (Operational Excellence) components
  • Prepare for quarterly QIV (Quality Improvement Visits)

Accountability 

  • Perform administrative reporting (daily reports, time reports, cash shortages, order changes, order accuracy, etc.)
