Quantum Network Engineering Intern
Education Desired:
Current graduate or exceptional undergraduate student in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, or related discipline.
Essential Job Functions:
Develop and use simulation tools to design and evaluate protocols for quantum networking, targeting integrated quantum photonic devices.Translate quantum optical models for real-world devices into code; evaluate resulting simulated performance metrics.Effectively present ideas and results in technical presentations, write research reports, and collaborate and communicate with team members.
Experience and Knowledge Desired:
Coursework or equivalent experience in quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, scientific computing, numerical analysis, high performance computing, and physics-based modeling. Application of scientific software to problems of scientific and technological interest. Knowledge of Python highly desirable.
Essential Physical/Mental Requirements:
Ability to spend extended periods of time at a computer monitor. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced heterogeneous team environment.
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is required.
