Employment Case Manager


Position Title: Employment Case Manager
Organization: Jewish Family Service
Position Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), non-exempt
Pay Rate: $17 - $18/hour

Position Overview: 
Assists clients in developing vocational goals reflective of their skills, capabilities and interests. Manages participant progress towards achieving goals by creating and updating individualized plans.  
Responsibilities:
  • Assists Employment Services clients obtaining long term competitive employment. Must meet intake, placement, and retention goals as set by program requirements.
  • Provides complete case management and employment service duties including client prescreening, intake, interests and career assessments, client file set up and ongoing maintenance, database input, post placement follow up calls.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of participant efforts and preparation of report in a timely manner. Maintains clear standardized records of participants served, types of services, and results of all job seeking activities including SMART goals. Makes sure participant files are in accordance with program standards.
  • Provide Job Search Related Educational workshops including Job Readiness Workshop, Resume Building Workshop, Computer Lab etc.
  • Provide Job Search Assistance, through hands on support and tailoring assignments for goal of securing employment
  • Maintains strong client relationships to ensure completion of job seeker assignments, timely submission of paystubs (where applicable), and post placement communication.
  • Maintains and creates relationships with local employers and community partners to ensure wrap around services to overcome any barriers to employment.
  • Acts as a role model and mentor by exhibiting professionalism at all times in regards to respectful communication (oral and written) and interactions, job search and retention counseling, keeping scheduled appointments, following through with any agreements with participants, and holding clients accountable to program participation requirements.
  • Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork. Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees as needed. Attends staff meeting as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required while maintaining performance measures
Skills/Abilities that are a Must-Have:
  • One to three years’ experience providing employment services or case management services.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communication, human services or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach individuals towards their goals.
  • Outgoing personality; enjoys meeting new people, business networking and public presentations; Knowledge about community resources
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, customers, community service providers and businesses.
·        Experience communicating with individuals who have limited English proficiency; Able to work with and relate to participants and be culturally sensitive.
·        Skilled in MS Office suite.
  • Strong self-initiative and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately enter and manage client/customer data in correct database depending on client participation
  • Strong organizational skills to balance client serving activities, documentation of services and completing necessary reports
  • Proven ability to use web-based tools/resources for career assessment, job search, and resume optimization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and to excel in highly visible, public settings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of local ethnic communities, young adult job seekers, labor market, local employer base, social service and education institutions.
  • Bilingual in any of the languages spoke by target population preferred
