Carrier Sales Representative - Sept 2021 (Chicago, IL)

If so, nice to meet you! We are Loadsmart and we are seeking a Carrier Sales Representative. We grew from 150 employees to 450 in the last 18 months with a recent Series C investment round of $90M. We are seeking an innovative, agile, Carrier Sales Representative who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced global company.
 
Loadsmart is hiring a Carrier Sales Representative to work in our Chicago office. This position will work closely with the operations team seeking new carrier relationships through cold calling and nurturing established relationships.
 
REPORTING TO: Jim Nicholson, VP of Operations
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
 
WHAT YOU GET TO DO...
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the best motor carriers to provide outstanding service to our customers
  • Negotiate market-driven rates and ensure shipment on-time performance metrics are met 
  • Build strong, lasting partnerships with new and existing carrier partners through phone calls, email and in-person visits
  • Assist Loadsmart in further expanding the company's carrier network by targeting and developing new enterprise carrier partners
  • Advocate for carrier partners and drivers to utilize our online platform to communicate, book and track loads autonomously
  • Relay carrier feedback to our engineering team to continuously improve our core technology for sourcing capacity and meet the needs of customers and carrier partners 
  • Ensure carriers are compliant with Loadsmart standards and proactively communicate directly if they fall short of expectations
  • Innovate solutions to improve operational efficiencies 

YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE… 
  • 0-2 years work experience in Carrier Sales, Transportation, or Logistics
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and thrive under deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Self-starter unafraid of seeking resources to get the job done
  • Strong business judgment and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Willing to work in a highly entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment
  • Results driven work ethic, exemplified by prioritization and persistent continued attention to see projects through to successful completion
