Job Summary

The position is responsible for providing lead work direction to staff in the operation of the power plant and all supporting activities including machinery repair for operation of our industry and plant operations departments at the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) - Lino Lakes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1) Provide lead work direction and guidance to employees who maintain and repair facility boilers, heating plant equipment and mechanical systems, including hot water distribution systems, HVAC systems, laundry and kitchen utility systems, water treatment systems, security repairs, building components, and energy management systems.
2) Monitor the status of work assigned to staff and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
3) Operate and service Energy Management Systems (EMS).
4) Ensure efficient administrative procedures to keep physical plant operating in a continuous, non-problematic manner.
5) Ensure all preventive maintenance work orders are complete and recorded.

Minimum Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position: 
Must possess current licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Boiler Chief Engineer Grade C;
AND
Leadership skills sufficient to provide leadwork direction that includes prioritizing and assigning job duties, directing, guiding and reporting on work activities of other staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position: 
+ Experience in providing lead work direction to other employees, preferably experience in leading licensed and unlicensed trades employees.
+ Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC and energy management system maintenance and repair, steam and hot water heating and associated apparatus including refrigeration systems.
+ Minnesota Department of Health Class D water license.
Physical Requirements
The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required prior to hire for this position. These components consist of a physical examination, a drug test and/or tuberculosis screening.
