Strategy Realization Graduate Summer Intern

About the Program:
The Life Science Graduate Internship program is a 10-week experience designed to identify the next generation of talent at MilliporeSigma. This program provides a unique opportunity within one of our business units or capabilities (Research Solutions, Applied Solutions, Process Solutions, or Strategy and Business Development) to focus on a key, strategic business area within our Life Science sector. 
For those selected, you will own a high impact project(s) and benefit from the support of an executive mentor and the MilliporeSigma Talent and Development organization. You will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities throughout the program to promote teamwork, social responsibility and the development of both technical and interpersonal skills.
 
Start Date: June 7, 2020 through August 13, 2020
 
Location: For the 2021 summer, this program will be fully virtual. If circumstances allow, the team will bring the intern cohort onsite the week of our poster symposium. 
 
Your Role:
The Life Science Strategy Realization Team (SRT) enables the execution of highly cross-functional key strategic initiatives on operational effectiveness and strategic growth and helps to capture the full business value.

Reporting into the Head of SRT, you will support and/or co-lead different phases of key strategic initiatives across multiple business areas. Working with us, you’ll join a dynamic, versatile and highly collaborative team that enjoys making strategy happen. Responsibilities include: 
 
  • The SRT drives and/or supports a broad variety of initiatives of different duration depending on strategic imperatives, hence the final initiative(s) supported by the grad intern will be identified and shaped at a later stage
  • As an example, we are currently working on: commercial plan for key strategic market; business case & financial monitoring for global operational effectiveness initiative; process improvement for global organic growth / CAPEX management; PMO for global digital transformation; monitoring & reporting of project execution & financial KPIs
  • You will help the SRT on key project stages: business case development, project planning, current-state assessment, future-state design, gap analysis, implementation, monitoring
  • You will interact with multiple teams (business units, functions, regions), using your communication and stakeholder management skills to gather relevant data and information, and present project outcomes
  • You will leverage our internal capabilities (eg. data, analytics platforms, subject-matter experts) and external resources to develop best-in-class recommendations
 
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Master’s degree in business (MBA or similar), or science / engineering with business curriculum/concentration
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Passion, entrepreneurial spirit, curiosity
  • Ability to absorb, understand, and structure large amounts of new information quickly
  • Understanding of / interest in life science, pharma/biotech, high-tech/digital industries
  • Previous experience in consulting, finance, product management, business analytics, or supply chain
  • Training and/or certification in PMP or Agile
  • Highly motivated graduate student with a proven track record of academic excellence and a desire to work in the Life Science industry.
