Internship - Political Science, Law, and/or Advocacy

OVERVIEW:
Iowa is one of only 15 states that does not have constitutional rights for victims of violent crimes. Marsy’s Law for Iowa is a bipartisan statewide effort working to elevate crime victims’ rights to the state constitution.
At Marsy’s Law for Iowa, we want our interns to participate in opportunities that they’re interested in and excited about, gain practical knowledge, and receive real world experience that they can take with them to their next endeavors.
Each member of the Marsy’s Law team is a different piece to the puzzle. Our interns will aid the Marsy’s Law team as we coordinate our effort for the 2021 Legislative Session. With a constantly changing dynamic, this will allow our interns a view into each unique position and what each entails.
JOB TYPE: Internship
This is a one-semester, unpaid internship for college or graduate students. This internship is located in our downtown offices at the Bank of America Building, where you will have a designated workspace, work with staff and other interns while following CDC guidelines. Individuals will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidates will have the opportunity to gain hands on campaign and legislative affairs experience, shadowing employees in the office.
