HOW YOU’LL FLY
As a Bioinformatics & Data Science Co-Op/Full-Time Intern bird reporting to Sneha Bhadoriya, you'll help to bring more patients their bluebird days by:
·      Be a part of a highly cross-functional team developing cell and gene therapies to combat cancer
·      Help us identify the next generation of cancer targets mining public data resources from normal and cancerous human tissues  
·      Answer critical research questions by applying custom pipelines to analyze NGS data
·      Develop evaluation and visualization tools and scripts as required for the aforementioned purposes
·      Work with scientists to gather requirements, understand priorities, and deliver data products that enable our research
·      Implement good documentation practices and maintain records in an organized manner

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
You’re the bird we’re looking for if you:
·      Have (Currently enrolled in a (BA/BS/MA/MS) degree program at an accredited college or university, studying bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, genetics/molecular biology, or a related field through current or previous coursework)
·      Knowledge of Python/R and experience working in Linux environment
·      Basic understanding of genetics and molecular biology. Some exposure to cancer biology and immunology preferred
·      Experience with Illumina NGS data analysis and standard tools (QC, alignment, variant calling and annotation), understanding of the standard data formats and metrics
·      Knowledge of version control and cloud computing are a plus
·      Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities
·      Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across multiple functions
·      Possess the (Ability to work a six-month assignment, full-time – July 12 – December 17)
·      This position is intended to be on-site in our 60 Binney Street, Cambridge, MA, location.
