Merchandise Space Planner

Job Description
The Merchandise Space Planner is a critical role in the success of the overall space merchandising strategy. This position will partner with various departments from Category Management and Store Operations to Inventory and Marketing to drive results through effective planograms and presentation.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create, execute and update planograms across all categories supporting all stores in line with the overall space merchandising strategy of the organization
  • Analyze, develop, recommend and execute category specific space merchandising
  • Work closely with Category Managers on overall space merchandising strategy
  • Local, area and regional schematic creation and updates for all Stores
  • Act as a champion and advocate for the Stores in collaboration with all departments
  • Establish relationships with Store management teams to be a resource for space constraint solutions
  • Work with Field Space Execution Team to manage new store planning and relationship between Stores to coordinate direction of resets and reset schedule
  • Internal relationship building and selling of space merchandising concepts and recommendations
  • Partner to develop fixture needs to better utilize space constraints
  • Maintain product data integrity for all items as it relates to planogram process
  • Additional duties as assigned by management   

Requirements
  • Bachelors’ Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of Space Planning and merchandise within retail industry is preferred.
  • Effective presentation and speaking skills with stores and employees, both internal and external, is required.
  • Ability to absorb technical information and translate into actionable results is required.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with both corporate and retail field associates
  • Analytical experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Refined critical thinking skills
  • Ability to problem solve and think quickly on your feet to develop effective solutions
  • Excellent time management and planning skills, organized with the ability to multitask, exceptional follow up skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to make decisions quickly, based upon a combination of analysis, experience, wisdom and judgment
  • Flexible personality with the ability to deal with ambiguity and to think outside the box and provide a continuous flow of new ideas and process improvements.
  • Results-oriented. Ability to execute and carry out strategic and operational plans.
  • Effective communication skills. Crisp and clear. 

Physical Requirements
General office environment, ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to move about an office. Ability to periodically lift 35+ pounds.
