Famous internship at Fresh Produce
Fresh Produce is a full-service creative agency in downtown Sioux Falls.
The first call for applications to the Famous internship was in 2007, highlighting an opportunity for students to run an "agency within an agency." A concept that was instituted right at the beginning—three students are hired to run projects for clients every summer, independent of Fresh Produce but with mentorship from writers, graphic designers, and the account service team. These clients are oftentimes new to Fresh Produce or are people that the agency has been interested in working with. Another mainstay of the program has been coordinating and promoting the summer exhibition for Ipso Gallery, a unique art space within Fresh Produce in downtown Sioux Falls.
Our Famous internship program is based on trust and respect. We believe the students we hire have the skills and knowledge to execute every project. That’s why we provide our interns the perspective of working on real-world projects with real clients. We want to give students an opportunity to grow, to explore creativity, and to even learn the intricacies of working in a collaborative team.
The hiring process for Famous has been atypical, much like the identity and culture that Fresh Produce has established within their region. For the full-time paid internship, Fresh Produce hires three people to fill the roles of Copywriter, Graphic Designer, and Account Service.
The agency is now accepting applications till 5:00 pm CST on Friday, February 5, 2021. The application is all online, with a distinct 'Creative Challenge' for each role. For example, the copywriting challenge prompts applicants to write a 60-second radio script, the graphic design creative challenge tests the applicants' skills in visually articulating the prompt, and the account service one is an opportunity to showcase the applicants' communication skills.
