Supply Chain Optimization Analyst

Overview

Under the direction of the Manager of Supply Chain Inventory & Demand Planning, the Supply Chain Optimization Analyst is responsible for providing fact-based, predictive analysis to improve performance across Lurie Children’s supply chain network. This includes the use of reports, dashboards & ad-hoc statistical analyses to ensure optimal inventory targets, minimize stockouts and eliminate obsolescence. The Supply Chain Optimization Analyst is responsible for periodic meetings with assigned nursing managers to validate data & ensure alignment on items stocked. They will also be responsible for assisting with project implementation as related to the organization’s supply chain initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Supports & follows the clear objectives of the Supply Chain Vision.
2. Responsible for establishing & maintaining PAR (inventory) values on assigned items & floors.
3. Accountable for both the fill rate & line count goals for assigned areas with the target to minimize stock outs & replenishment lines per day.
4. Able to navigate advanced inventory planning systems (Lawson, PAR Excellence and Helios) to evaluate relevant data.
5. Comfortable exporting data to excel, performing data manipulation & summarizing conclusions to both clinical leaders & supply chain leaders.
6. With the support of the Manager of Inventory & Demand Planning, be able to problem solve identified data or system gaps.
7. Disciplined in reporting out & enhancing daily, weekly & monthly KPIs.
8. Participant in key supply chain projects, able to deliver on assigned tasks & dates.
9. Provides effective communication to clinicians, administration, faculty, management and staff to establish collaborative communication and understanding of the organization’s mission and strategic goals necessary to achieve operational goals.
10. Actively engages in professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge of environmental trends, clinical developments/best practices and business opportunities.
11. Other job functions as assigned.


Qualifications

1. Required: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Information Technology or other related fields required.
2. Required: 1-5 years of experience in supply chain or logistics. Relevant research or internship experience while pursuing bachelor’s degree will be considered.
3. Required: Strong user of Microsoft Excel; capable of advanced formulas & pivot tables.
4. Required: Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner. Ability to work independently and apply time management skills effectively in a fast paced environment.
5. Required: Process improvement experience and/or education of Six Sigma, Lean, or similar process improvement principles.
6. Required: Ability to comprehend data logic and data processes. Ability to employ problem solving skills effectively, compile complex reports and develop presentations to external stakeholders.
7. Required: Basic facilitation and project management skills. Ability to manage assigned projects to specified budget and time line with minimal supervision. Must be able to prioritize, organize and assess work in order to meet aggressive deadlines and cope in fast-paced environment.
8. Required: Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft windows OS and applications.
9. Required: Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment with individuals of diverse disciplines in a goal-oriented environment.
10. Required: Strong personal interest in working in healthcare.
11. Preferred: Strong user of analytical tools (Access, Power BI, Tableau); capable of creating custom reports and dashboards. Experience writing queries using SQL.
12. Preferred: Experience utilizing Supply Chain systems such as ERP, WMS or other inventory management systems.
13. Preferred: Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate facts and ideas clearly and concisely. Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and clearly articulate potential solutions.
14. Preferred: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Capable of working in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and interacting with all levels of the organization.
15. Required: Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to patient health information (PHI) or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
