Project Surveyor/Permit Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Project Surveyor/Permit Coordinator. A predominant responsibility for this individual will be providing support to the design team in completing detailed surveys for the design process and post-sale permit documentation. This individual will be one of the first points of contact with engineers, architects, villages and homeowners in gathering the necessary information for the completion of the survey plans as well as the execution of the permit documentation, thus communication skills are essential. The Project Surveyor/Permit Coordinator has the capacity to take on more responsibilities as time progresses and is encouraged to create new ways to streamline company processes.

Responsibilities:
·        Complete and submit survey contracts to customers as directed by the sales team and obtain approvals prior to execution of the survey equipment
·        Acquire plan detail specifications necessary for basemap development
·        Execute site survey using Leica Survey equipment to document all existing hardscape and plant material on jobsite for location and elevation relative to a site benchmark
·        Execute site survey using drone, video, and photographic documentation
·        Identify all existing utilities, drainage, downspouts, hardscapes and fencing on property for completion of basemap
·        Identification and location of all bedlines, existing trees, ornamentals, shrubs and perennials on site for completion of basemap
·        Evaluation of existing hardscape and plant condition for use by the design team in the development of the site
·        Review site data internally and gather zoning information, lot coverage, setbacks, etc. to provide to design team for completion of design
·        Completion of drafting work in CAD to produce complete and accurate basemap for review by Project Development Department and use by design team
·        Development and completion of detail drawings for design team.
·        Completion of permit applications, detail drawings, permit plans and follow through with communication and approvals with villages
·        Track progress of permit submittals with villages and develop relationships to fast-track approvals
·        Track reimbursable expenses throughout project development until construction begins for billing
·        Act as primary contact point for permit communication with engineers, villages, and internal staff

Qualifications:
·        Bachelor’s degree preferred in one of the following fields; Landscape, Architecture, Civil Engineering.
·        Experience in one of the above fields in a related industry 2-5 years.

Knowledge and Abilities: 
·        Highly organized and disciplined with proven time management skills
·        Extremely meticulous in analysis and execution of work
·        Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Email)
·        Basic computer background (Word, Excel, Email)
·        Experience with AutoCAD
·        Exceedingly positive with employees and clients
·        Flexible and open-minded to various new projects
