Conservation Crewmember (Spike), 2021

Join an AmeriCorps crew working on conservation projects throughout the Upper Rio Grande region of New Mexico. These crews will be camping positions; applicants must be available for overnights up to 8 days.
 
Position Purpose:
Crews will work to safely complete trail maintenance and/or forestry/fuels reduction (chainsaw thinning) projects. Additional projects may include historic preservation, disaster relief, watershed restoration or other community improvement work. All Corpsmembers will receive both personal and professional development training in topics such as First Aid/CPR, financial management, and public speaking skills.
  
Benefits:
This is an AmeriCorps position and corpsmembers will receive a living allowance of a $840 bi weekly stipend throughout the season, as well as an education award of $4,336 upon successful completion of the term of service. This award can be used to pay tuition at most colleges, universities, or trade schools, or to pay off student loans already acquired.
