Creative Intern (Summer 2021), St. Louis

Position Overview and Responsibilities

FleishmanHillard is looking for creative interns to join our award-winning ranks this summer. Whether you deal in images, words, pixels or aspect ratios, “The power of true” demands them all. Those selected will gain valuable experience working in a variety of mediums for brands across a range of industries.

Qualifications


ART DIRECTORS / DESIGNERS
Our Art Direction/Design Interns work under the guidance of creative directors with their artistic prowess to fulfill the design needs of clients. Having an eye for aesthetic is vital for success on assigned projects. They show us how they create something from nothing, how they visually bring an idea to life, how their process unfolds, and the results.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
  • Completed or entering the final year of a 4-year graphic design or advertising degree or related program.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a strong sense of design and typography.
  • A willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.

COPYWRITERS
Our clients are in need of all types of writing: short form, long form, whatever the kind, it will be written. The Copywriter Intern should capture the voice of the client and tell their story the best way possible. They show us how to change someone’s mind with only words.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
  • Completed or entering the final year of a 4-year advertising degree or related program.
  • A portfolio filled with conceptual ideas and smart copy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • A willingness to learn and work within a team environment.

VIDEO EDITORS
Video Editor Interns work with directors and producers, being the tool that winds the story together, demonstrating the ability to jump from project to project, to find the shot that captures the moment, and to separate compelling content from filler.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
  • Completed final year of a 4-year film, video production, broadcast journalism or related degree program.
  • A reel and/or work samples demonstrating strong technical proficiency as well as creative and storytelling ability.
  • A willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and related programs.
  • Proficiency with videography and photography also a plus.

DIGITAL DEVELOPERS
Digital Development Interns get immersed into all aspects of development. They will see projects from front-end to back-end, the creation phase to the testing phase. They find what will work for a program and all its quirks. They are a problem-solver who loves finding that missing piece of the puzzle. The quicker, the better.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
  • Completed a 4-year computer science or engineering degree
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demand driven environment.
  • Basic experience with HTML5, XML, Ajax, jQuery and JavaScript.
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in developing technical documentation.
  • A willingness to learn and work within a team environment.

PROJECT MANAGERS
Project Management Interns work directly with creative directors, account teams, and clients to see campaigns develop from start to finish. They demonstrate leadership qualities but operate best working with others. This position teaches the intern how to manage several tasks at once, oversee projects, and value the importance of being a collaborative leader
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
  • Completed a 4-year business, marketing, or related degree program.
  • Ability to work under aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, management, communication and analytical skills.
  • A willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
