Global Logistics Summer Intern

Job Title: Global Logistics Intern
Department: Supply Chain & Planning 
Status: Temporary, full-time hours mid June-mid August

KEEN is offering college students a completely virtual opportunity to experience and be embedded into the brand by offering a 10-week paid summer (June - August) internship.

Our KEENtern program provides students relevant and valuable hands-on work experience. This program includes:

Program Requirements
  • Be a Junior, Senior, or Grad student
  • Eligible to work in the US and reside in the following states: AL, CA, CO, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, OH, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, UT, VT, WA, WI - we are set up for payroll in these states only
  • Must be able to dedicate 40 hours/week toward the internship during normal M-F working hours; our office and the majority of our staff work in Pacific Standard Time

General Summary
The Global Logistics team is responsible for the logistics operations from factory to destination on a global basis, including carrier selection, routing of goods, freight audit, custom compliance and importation of goods. The Global Logistics Intern will receive an overview of compliance and logistics operations. 

Essential Responsibilities
  • Daily DHL CAP check and troubleshooting
  • Respond to routine Customs Broker requests (HTS lookup, missing documents)
  • Routine Entry Audit, US & CA transactions
  • Denied Party Screening (UPS Quantum View, Tradeability tool)
  • Routine Debit Note review
  • Letters of Authorization. Annual “blanket” LOA required for each KEEN / PPM suppliers (for use of KEEN brand / trademark)
  • Annual screening of all KEEN / PPM suppliers plus onboard screening of new suppliers
  • Support miscellaneous import / export projects (PPM machinery, Trade Shows, UNEEK BOT, non-PO fixture distribution)
  • Complete a project in one or more of the following areas:
  • Customs/Compliance related surveys to support the direct ship program
  • Small Parcel Account Review – Review current DHL and UPS account numbers to assign business owners and SAP cost centers. Setup new SOP for improved parcel shipping cost assignments

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or degree pursuit in one of the following: Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Must be enrolled an accredited college or university at the Junior, Senior, or Graduate level
  • Must be able to dedicate 40 hours/week toward the internship during normal M-F PST working hours
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Ability to solve problems with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and on tight deadlines
  • Able to sit and/or stand at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
