Child Development and Activity Instructor
Join the team of staff at Camp Wawenock on Sebago Lake in Maine to help children build activity skills and develop as individuals.
Activity Instructor Responsibilities:
- Provide quality, individualized instruction in your 1-2 activity areas (tennis, horseback riding, sailing, canoeing, pottery, etc.) for a full list of activity offerings, visit https://campwawenock.com/our-program-seven-weeks-of-magic/
- Plan lessons in accordance with the developmental needs of the group, working with co-teachers and Activity Heads
Cabin Counselor Responsibilities:
- Work with the cabin group as a whole in regards to group dynamics (including problem solving and bonding opportunities)
- Plan cabin activities to support camper friendships
Gain transferrable skills in:
- Group management
- Teaching
- Communication
- Collaboration
- Problem solving
- Decision making
- Conflict resolution
Candidates should have:
- Strong skills in one or more of the following activity areas (sailing, riding, tennis, outdoor living skills, canoeing, pottery, windsurfing, archery, riflery, etc.)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, with a teamwork attitude
- Experience working with children preferred but not required

Minimum commitment dates: June 16th- August 18th, 2021. Salaries vary with experience, years in college, and certification levels.
