Ashinaga Uganda 2021 Teaching and Mentoring Internship Program (Study Camp)

2021 Ashinaga Internship Program in Uganda

For more than 50 years, Ashinaga has provided educational support and emotional care to orphaned students from around the world. Over 400 interns from more than 90 universities worldwide have helped us to continue this mission, interning in a variety of fields within our organization.

Ashinaga Uganda Internships

The Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) supports Ashinaga Scholars from 48 sub-Saharan countries. Scholars come from Anglophone, Lusophone, or Francophone countries.

Through education, Ashinaga hopes to empower its students to make the change that they wish to see in their communities, countries, and the African continent. These students have all lost one or both parents and have been specifically chosen due to their academic ability, financial need, and potential for leadership.

In Uganda, we offer internships in two types of camps attended by Ashinaga Scholars: Study Camp and Preparation Camp.

Anglophone and Lusophone Ashinaga Scholars selected to start university in 2022, will attend a Study Camp (July-December), which focuses on academic improvement, as well as university applications. Interns can apply to work for the Study Camp 2021 Cohort 1 or the Study Camp 2021 Cohort 2.

Ashinaga Scholars (Anglophone and Francophone) starting university in 2021, come together in Uganda for Preparation Camp (April-June) to get ready for life at universities around the world. Intern responsibilities in Preparation Camp will focus on preparing scholars for life at university in another culture, with classes taught in English.

Disclaimer: While Ashinaga Uganda is planning to have the 2021 Uganda Preparation Camp Internship Program on schedule, due to continuing concerns surrounding COVID-19, immigration policies, and global mobility, please be advised there is still a possibility of further program changes and/or cancellation of the 2021 Uganda Internship Program. If the program is cancelled, no remote internship will be offered in its place.
