UI Developer

We are seeking a UI Developer to join our team!
At this time Zirous team members are primarily working remotely. In the future, we hope to return to the West Des Moines, IA office in a hybrid model, while relying heavily on employee feedback.
What you'd be doing:
- Work on a variety of projects as a full-time consultant. Length of projects and types of client industries will vary.
- Responsible for the look, feel, and presentation of web pages and applications while also ensuring the functionality and accessibility to users of client websites.
- Create, update and troubleshoot user interface builds.
- Create new user interface functionality within an existing web platform.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed.
- Design mobile-based features.
- Collaborate with back-end developers to improve usability.
- Obtain feedback from, and build solutions for users and clients.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project implementation.
- Provide expert and specialized hands-on technical support, consultation and coaching to clients.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven work experience as a Front-end developer.
- Experience with developing, testing, and debugging web pages that are compatible with all modern browsers.
- UX design experience.
- Understanding of key design principles and layout aesthetics.
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).
- Knowledge of SEO principles.
- 1 - 5 years of experience with the following technologies:
- HMTL
- JavaScript
- jQuery
- CSS
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Suite; Photoshop and content management systems
- An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical and multitasking skills.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Can articulate complex technological concepts to fellow developers and translate for non-technical individuals. Adept at navigating technical conversations with both team members and clients alike.
