Seasonal Maintenance - Forestry | City of Burnsville

DESCRIPTION:

To assist staff with various forestry, horticultural, and landscape maintenance practices within the City. To operate City vehicles and equipment and perform duties as assigned. Hard hats, face shields, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe boots, long pants and gloves are required. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided by the City.

Hours: This a temporary/seasonal summer position. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

1. Ability to perform any of the following tasks:

· Pruning of trees and shrubs

· Removal of dead and diseased trees

· Chipping brush

· Mulching and watering plantings

· Planting trees and shrubs

· Physically demanding work assignments

2. Ability to safely operate the following equipment:

· Pickups and one-ton trucks with or without trailers attached or vehicles requiring expertise

· Chain Saws, Wood Chippers, Stump Grinder and maintenance of equipment
