Intern Position: Content and Marketing Specialist
Company Background: The Midwest Sports Network is a digital property of Direct Digital Media, LLC. A full-service media production company, based in Southern Tennessee. MWSN has reached around the world and made headlines for content produced by our staff since launching in 2018.
General Summary: Direct Digital Media, LLC is working to grow a series of online only media outlets. These include the Midwest Sports Network, Mid American News, and Lukewarm Takes. The primary responsibility of this intern will be in development of content for MWSN. The intern will have a low pressure opportunity to work with and for a former educator and alongside other students. The student will be able to experiment with the growth of a media brand and see the time investment affiliated with growing an online only media outlet.
Essential Job Functions: Primary responsibilities of this role will be in development of content for the media outlet. We are considering launching a fourth brand as well. This individual will have a low pressure opportunity to experiment with the growth of a media brand and see the time investment affiliated with growing an online only media outlet. It will consist of writing sports related content, which we would like the student to choose and develop. The student will also have the opportunity to post to social media if they desire.
Educational Components: This individual will have a low pressure opportunity to experiment with the growth of a media brand and see the time investment affiliated with growing an online only media outlet. Sports marketing and media professionals are fighting for fewer positions than ever thanks to the pandemic. We hope to allow students to use our platform to expirement with producing journalistic content and social media content.
