Summary:

Purchases goods, materials, and services to ensure company operations needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply. Role may take ownership for a specific project or commodity.  
 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Purchases goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
  • Ensures continuous supply of required goods and materials; communicates any supply problems that may pose a risk of impact on business operations
  • Monitors market trends and suppliers and amends procurement strategies based on economic conditions
  • Researches and evaluates areas of opportunity to reduce cost where possible
  • Develops and implements innovative procurement processes
  • Develops ideas and strategies to improve efficiency, add value, and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Assesses and evaluates suppliers and carries out performance reviews to ensure compliance and mange performance improvement activities
  • Ensures that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Explores alternate sources for goods and materials
  • Refers to production schedules and prepares purchase orders in line with selected suppliers and organizational requirements
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, and invoice issues
  • Maintains purchasing department records including purchase orders, packing slips, and requisitions
  • Assists in the coordination of vendor returns due to defective parts and materials,
  • as well as debit memos required by such action
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders and suppliers to resolve supply issues and advise of impact on production requirements, when necessary 
  • Attends production planning meetings, as required
  • Practices good work habits including productivity and efficiency, dependability, seeing work, maintaining a clean and organized work area etc.
  • Is a productive member of his/her department, is responsible in matters of confidentiality and adheres to all Rosenboom policies, including safety requirements/procedures and maintaining a clean and organized work area in order to ensure a safe working environment for all Rosenboom employees.
