Online Instructor/Language Coach

ooLango E-Learning Coaches instruct and educate students of all ages all around the world using the internet, computers, and online tools. This program has adult education opportunities. Online teachers provide instruction in English and must be native speakers of English. Because this is a remote job offering part-time hours, online teachers enjoy some flexibility in their shifts and can exercise some discretion over when they develop instructional slides. Classroom times will be fixed. There is no travel required for this job, as online teachers may instruct students from their own homes or any other location of their choosing as long as they have excellent internet access. This is an unpaid educational internship opportunity. Many of our interns get college credits, please check with your advisor to see if this qualifies for college credit for your university.

Online Instructor Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily tasks vary for online teachers based on the level of English they teach, the number of students they instruct, and the curriculum requirements they must follow. However, the basic duties for online teachers are generally the same despite these variables:
Design Lesson Plans
Coaches design lesson plans and follow all curriculum requirements provided by ooLango E-Learning
Engage Students During Class
Coaches encourage participation and lead participant discussions to keep them active and engaged in learning.
Provide Feedback
Provide feedback to participants.
Maintain Availability
Communicate with participants to provide updates through online chat sessions and email.
Language Coach Skills and Qualifications:
Online Coaches are educators who provide instruction to adults, communicate effectively, and successfully operate software and hardware to perform their teaching tasks.

We are looking for Coaches who have the following essential skills:
·        Leadership – Strong leaders, able to maintain a virtual session and successfully guide participants through conversations
·        Motivational skills– Motivational skills and strategies to encourage participants to learn and keep them engaged in their own education
·        Communication skills– Strong verbal and written communication skills to instruct and educate participants
·        Computer skills– because of the internet-based nature of the job, Coaches have excellent computer skills and can work with multiple types of computers, peripheral accessories, and software programs
·        Analytical skills– Use analytical skills to evaluate participant work and ongoing participant progress
 
Tools of the Trade
Online participants regularly work with these tools:
·        Presentation software (Google Slides in the Google Drive)
·        Online video conferencing software (Zoom)
·        Computer hardware accessories (webcams, headsets)
 
ooLango E-Learning offers our interns an opportunity to experience a real life teaching environment in a fast growing start up. Training and experience is preferred, but not required. You are not required to have a teaching certificate to participate in the internship with ooLango. Previous physical classroom teaching experience is welcomed, but not required.
We will provide you with a virtual training program teaching you specific tools to instruct participants. The ooLango internship/volunteer opportunity provides training on course development and online presentation skills to the participants.
