Byline Bank | 2021 Commercial Banking Credit Analyst Training Program

2021 Formal Credit Analyst Training Program | Target Start Date: June 2021

The purpose of the Commercial Banking Training Program is to develop future top talent for Byline’s Commercial Banking team. The 24-month training program will consist of 4-week full-time classroom instructions followed by rotational assignments among the bank’s various lending groups (C&I, CRE, Specialty Lending, and SAG). Upon successful completion of the training program, individuals will be promoted to an Associate Banker or an Underwriter subject to business needs as well as individual performance, skillset and interests.

Classroom training will cover the fundamentals of accounting, finance, credit analysis, business/financial writing, financial modeling, loan documentation, relevant computer skills, introduction to bank systems and Byline as an organization. Training will be taught by seasoned Byline professionals from various departments, industry experts (CPAs, attorneys, appraisers, identified online resources, as well as Omega Performance Credit Training).

During 6-month rotational assignments, the analyst will gain real-world banking experience working alongside Byline’s seasoned bankers and credit partners. Weekly 2-4 hour classroom instructions will continue during the rotational assignments to further the skills obtained on the job training.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics preferred)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Ability to work individually and within teams
  • Strong analytical, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Travel to various Byline locations will be necessary. Candidates will be expected to provide their own transportation or use public transportation to get to Chicago downtown, Libertyville, Itasca, Naperville or Evanston

Job Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite credit transactions for various lines of business
  • Spread and analyze financial statements
  • Monitor credit risk within loan portfolio
  • Prepare annual financial reviews and credit memos
  • Accompany lenders on customer and prospect calls
  • Provide support to the relationship managers
