As an Intern within the Data Platform team, you will work with a global team to enhance the organizations Data Science capabilities in the AWS Cloud. You will work on a project that will deliver the capability to implement and deploy a secured on-demand Data Science platform using SageMaker, Redshift and associated tools. In addition, the capability will deliver the foundation of our Data Pipelines for servicing the needs of the Data Science community. 

At the end of the Internship, the goal is:
  • To be able to deploy workloads on SageMaker in a secure fashion
  • To be able to prepare the data from our Data Lakes for ingestion into the SageMaker environment
  • To design a prototype Amazon SageMaker Pipeline
  • To ensure the integration of required security measures, like the use of KMS, AWS Secrets Manager and other tools to securely manage the data being used and generated
  • To Develop the metrics required to measure the effectiveness of the platform (availability, cycle time to deploy, errors)
  • To Deliver a Training Module that lays out the processes for using these toolsets

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Work with the Cloud/Compute, Information Security and Data Science architects to design the environment to meet the requirements
  • Build test cases and implement security controls needed to ensure end-to-end security of the environment

Qualifications

 
Education & Experience: 
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with a graduation date on or after Dec 2021 
  • Strong programming experience with Python or Java, SQL, MEAN stack, HTML5, CSS. Front end development experience using AngularJS or REACT is a plus
  • Understanding and familiarity with AWS Data Science tools (RedShift, SageMaker, etc.)
  • Should be knowledgeable about the AWS ecosystem and services
