Position Purpose

The Talent Engagement Specialist will act as an ambassador to current Thompson employees and prospective employees, providing information and support services at all stages of the employee life cycle: recruitment, onboarding, orientation, career planning, and transition. This position will work to develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain a strong workforce and promote Thompson as an employer of choice in the community.

This role will coordinate all hiring steps throughout the recruitment process from start to end, including screening and onboarding. This individual will be responsible for managing internal employee development and will assist in attracting and retaining the right team. They will assist with employee career pathing and support management with developing, conducting, tracking and/or evaluating training or professional development opportunities as requested. The Talent Engagement Specialist will analyze compensation, benefits, and local wage surveys to evaluate the employment market demands on a continuous basis and will gather and analyze qualitative retention data such as employee surveys, exit interviews, stay interviews to identify and implement improvement opportunities through working closely with department's management.
This position requires an employee-focused, highly motivated, and relationship dedicated individual who will be responsible for providing guidance, counsel, and support to employees and managers on employee onboarding, training plans, career advancement, performance improvement and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors). Must be an agile team player with ability to collaborate with and build relationships across departments.
Monitor and evaluate trainees' progress and development by implementing an evaluation and proficiency assessment process that is consistent with company appraisal, developmental and feedback standards.
Manage employee review documents and identify opportunities for advancement. Work with managers to create a path for employee to learn and navigate and empower them to career advancement.
Exhibit excellent time and workload management skill, ability to prioritize, ability to work independently, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines.
Oversee the rewards and recognitions programs, including planning and promoting internal events and activities across all locations in order to facilitate employee engagement.
Travel to other Thompson locations to work with department managers to oversee and facilitate all facets of the recruiting, onboarding, and training process to deliver on our mission.
Collaborate with HR Manager and Marketing to develop and implement internal and external communication strategy.
Attend local job fairs and community colleges to engage in potential employee searches and promote Thompson within the community.
Develop and implement management training for current and future managers.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
