REPORTS TO: Superintendent or Designee

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Alaska Type B Administration Certificate Preferred.
2. Alaska Teacher Certificate Required.
3. Demonstrated ability to live, work and travel in a cross-cultural setting.
4. Computer literate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Implement and observe all Board policies and regulations.
2. Maintain positive school and district relations and image within the community.
3. Maintain a close school and district relationship with the Community School Committee (CSC) and Regional School Board members.
4. Determine the need for, develop and evaluate student activities according to district policy.
5. Delegate appropriate responsibilities to staff in order for the school to operate effectively and efficiently.
6. Maintain high standards for student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary, according to due process for the rights of students and staff.
7. Keep accurate and up-to-date student and staff records.
8. Develop a student's handbook pursuant to district policy.
9. Manage state and federal grant funds according to regulation and district guidelines.
10. Manage the school budget and school activity funds following accepted accounting practice and district guidelines.
11. Recommend appropriate classified staff for hire, designates duties, and evaluates classified staff toward the improvement of school operation.
12. Ensure that building grounds and equipment are maintained in a proper state of repair, safety, and cleanliness.
13. Notify the District of misuse, neglect, needed repairs or required alterations.
14. Aid staff with professional training and staff development needs.
15. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of instructional materials and school equipment.
16. Develop an understanding of various program funding sources.
17. Conduct teacher evaluation process following the district's evaluation procedures.
18. Keep the Superintendent informed of pertinent school problems and activities.
19. Supervise all personnel serving and/or attending the school.
20. Supervise all Instructional program components, operation of school plant and all school activities.
21. Abide by the code of ethics and the Professional Teaching Standards adopted by the Professional Teaching Practices Commission of the State of Alaska.
22. Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as district administration may assign.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salary placement is based on columns (college credits obtained) and/or steps (number of years of experience). Health insurance is provided (monthly premium co-payment is deducted). Furnished housing is provided (monthly rent payment is deducted; roommate sharing may be required). A travel benefit between Anchorage, AK, and the specific location is provided. This position may be covered by the 2019-2022 Administrator's Negotiated Agreement or the Teacher's Negotiated Agreement as applicable.
