Civic Champs Lead Ambassador

Lead Ambassador Position
 
Are you passionate about social innovation and using new business models to change the world? Do you enjoy working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment with like-minded colleagues? We are looking for talented students who want to help Civic Champs - winners of the 2019 IU CLAPP competition and a Techcrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield - build a stronger presence and promote current and future non-profit activities through encouraging volunteerism on the University of Texas at Austin, Michigan State University, Carnegie Mellon, and Indiana University Bloomington college campuses.  
 
There are two distinct positions available as a Lead Ambassador, each with its own set of responsibilities: Social Media and Event Organizer.
 
 Social Media Lead Ambassador responsibilities and expectations include: 
 
  • Creating biweekly posts on Civic Champs’ social media accounts to promote community service opportunities that Civic Champs’ employees, ambassadors, or university students are involved in 
  • Attending remote meetings with Civic Champs marketing team and other employees
  • Researching and reaching out to potential college clubs that are involved in community service and volunteering
 
Event Organizer Lead Ambassador responsibilities and expectations include: 
  • Organizing community service opportunities/events for ambassadors and students by reaching out to non-profits 
  • Aiding the volunteering process of nonprofits by organizing volunteers for existing projects 
  • Attending remote meetings
  • The Community Service Ambassador will be required to adhere to certain expectations to take part in and/or organize community service events at least once a month
 
Additional Responsibilities: 
  • Once selected, Lead Ambassadors will be required to recruit one or two more students (each) that will act as Ambassadors for Civic Champs and aid Lead Ambassadors in their respective tasks 
  • Commitment: 2-4 Hours/week
  • Lead Ambassadors are required to stay in the position throughout the duration of summer 2021 (can do it remotely)
 
Who we are looking for: 
  • Students with a strong interest in working with nonprofits, volunteering, and community service
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Diligent, reliable, and punctual in participating in our program
  • Interest in marketing, business, communications, and/or project management
