Waterfront Instructor/ Counselor | Camp Walden Inc.

Waterfront instructors at Walden will need to come to camp with a lifeguard certification and the abiltiy to lead or assist in one or more of the following areas: Canoe, Kayak, Stand up Paddle Board, Sailing, Ski/ wakeboard, Tubing. Waterfront instructors will teach/ assist at three of four periods and during certain evening programs. Instructors are also cabin counselors and live with their campers although both campers and counselors have their own daily schedules.

Camp Walden is a traditional, co-ed, residential camp located in Northern Michigan. We are a family-owned camp beginning our 62nd year. Beyond the waterfront Walden offers athletics (tennis, basketball, baseball/softball, archery, soccer, lacrosse, fencing, yoga, dance, fitness); Arts & Crafts (ceramics, tie-dye, painting/drawing, batik, metal work, sewing, jewelry making, copper enamel, lapidary) theater, media and more. At Walden you will be a part of a tight knit, dynamic staff from across America and Europe. We are looking for staff who want to work with children, make life long friends and have a formative experience in a beautiful, natural setting. We believe working at a summer camp is one of the most important jobs will have and a great resume builder. You will develop your leadership and problem-solving skills, network with a wide range of professionals and contemporaries. Camp will also be a resource for thoughtful and thorough letters of recommendation. Internships can also be crafted for virtually any major.
