Quality Control Lab Technician

Job Description

IFF is seeking multiple Laboratory Technicians to join our team in Madison, WI! If you are an outgoing and detail oriented individual, then this is the role for you! 

 

The Lab Technician is responsible for accomplishing daily quality control lab tasks as a member of the Quality Control team. 

 

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

Perform routine lab testing with accurate and timely recording of test results into the SAP Quality Management module and utilize lab reference materials for information regarding testing. 

Assist Q.C. Team members by being responsive to any problems relative to Q.C. laboratory functions and by quickly and expertly alleviating difficulties as necessary. 

Participate in team meetings to help outline work schedules and priorities. 

Understand and follow procedures of the department for the proper calibration and use of the department's equipment. 

Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices for the care, handling and storage of food products; and report any known or observed violations to management. Utilize HACCP philosophy and procedures in everyday work routine. 

Responsible for ordering and maintaining adequate stock of lab supplies and chemicals in conjunction with other Q.C. Laboratory Team members. 

Perform environmental sampling procedures. 

 

Job Requirements




The following are required: 

 

High School Diploma/GED 

2+ years of experience in a lab tech, quality control, or related role OR an Associate’s Degree in a science related field 

Strong math skills 

Strong written and verbal communication skills 

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team 

Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 

Willing and able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift

Willing and able to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed 

 

The following are preferred: 

 

Knowledgeable about analyses and tests performed in a Quality Control department 

Previous experience with HACCP, food safety, and general quality assurance procedures 

Previous experience working in a GMP environment
