Limited-Term, Entry-Level Forest Analyst

We are currently seeking one limited-term, Entry-level Forest Analyst for the summer of 2021 at our Tomahawk office. This is considered an entry-level position, although previous professional experience is helpful.
 
The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:
  • Interest in mensuration, biometry, forest finance, timber inventory, forest carbon, data analysis, growth and yield, and forest modeling
  • Enrolled in an SAF accredited Forestry Program
  • Familiarity with Lake States forest management and the greater timber industry
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software – including Access
  • Experience with GPS data collecting and processing
  • Experience with ESRI GIS software and GIS mapping and data collection principles
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in varied settings, both in the field and with clients and other professionals
  • Desire to develop a career as a professional forester in a fast-paced and diverse consulting business
  • Ability to travel and conduct overnight work away from the Tomahawk office – travel up to 25 percent
  • A team player who is confident, respectful, curious, flexible, and able to work with other professionals in a growing, successful, and respected business
  • Current valid driver’s license with personal vehicle suitable for forestry work (mileage is reimbursed)
Hourly wage commensurate with experience.

Posting Date: March 1, 2021. Position will be filled within one to two months. Interviews will be scheduled throughout this time period. Expected start date is mid-May, 2021, dependent upon candidate availability. Please note that this position may be filled sooner, as there is flexibility in the start date.
