Content Editor, Fantasy and Romance

eGlobal Creative Publishing, Inc., is seeking new Content Editors to join its editorial team. Content Editors work with new authors in our “Author Boot Camp” program to guide them through outlining and writing a novel for online distribution. The Editor’s primary role is to provide story feedback to authors and to monitor new novels throughout the writing and publishing process.
 
At eGlobal, we work with authors around the world to create trendy works of fiction tailored for new and innovative e-publishing formats which reach audiences worldwide. We are looking for creative, open-minded, outside-the-box thinkers with a strong interest in commercial fiction (especially Fantasy and Romance) to join our team on the cutting edge of digital publishing!
 
The Content Editor’s duties are as follows:
·       Reviewing submissions of writing samples and story outlines.
·       Content editing on novels (up to 12 concurrently), including: reading new chapters, preparing editorial feedback, and meeting with authors on a regular basis to discuss their work.
·       Tracking submission schedules and coordinating across departments to publish novels.
·       Conducting ongoing market research on our distribution platforms, reading popular online novels and making note of trends.
·       Creating story proposals, including preparing full novel outlines as needed.
·       Attend regular meetings with the editorial team and reporting on the progress of ongoing novel projects.
·       Assisting with our education program as needed, including writing or editing educational materials and giving short presentations.
·       Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including data entry and author outreach.
 
The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:
·       Superb communication skills, both in writing and over the phone.
·       A passion for fiction—particularly entertainment-oriented, commercial novels in genres such as Fantasy and Romance.
·       Editorial experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
·       Creative writing experience is a big plus, but not required.
·       Superb organizational skills, particularly in a fast-paced environment with frequently-changing responsibilities and tasks.
·       The ability to independently manage one’s workload and meet deadlines.
 
This is a freelance position. All work and communication will be remote.
