Human Resources Data Analytics Intern

The Human Resources Data Analytics Intern will support UL to define and prioritize core people metrics. You’ll work with HR and business leaders from across the globe to identify common, consistent definitions and business rules for those metrics. You’ll work to determine use cases, current inconsistencies, root cause and potential solutions that will inform our employee experience. You’ll identify data sources and research best practices to prepare data structures for reporting, modeling and advanced analytics. By creating operational work products, supporting and/ or driving advanced analytic projects, sharing data-driven insights, and supporting the development of human capital decision-support tools (i.e., modeling, forecasting, and prediction) you will play a critical role in UL’s data journey.

  • Partner with HR and Business Leaders to prioritize and define key HR metrics and consistent business rules
  • Understand HR data and analytics use cases and the source of issues and inconsistencies
  • Assess business insights required from data and the best way to present information in a consumable format that can be manipulated, as needed, for various scenarios (e.g. drill-down capabilities)
  • Create repeatable operational reports using modeling tools such as Power BI or Python
  • Support creation of analytics projects to develop data-driven insights
  • Using large data sets, analyze data, extract relevant information, and produce strategic insights
  • Communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing to colleagues with varying degrees of analytical knowledge and understanding. (Story-telling)
  • Develop and maintain data schematics, layouts, architectures and maintain data accuracy
  • Leverage internal system to confirm data accuracy
  • Deliver data to clients (HR and Business Leaders) using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Linked and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Deliver business insights through in-depth data analysis
  • Provides other duties as directed.
