Organic Gardening Summer Intern

Our gardening internship is for those who want to get their hands dirty by taking an active leadership role, or otherwise assist in tending to, organizing, and overseeing the summer gardening operation during its busy growing season. Depending on the start date, this can include: crop planning, seed starting and transplanting; soil preparation, watering, weeding, mulching, mowing and composting; harvesting, washing, prepping and preserving produce; scheduling and managing volunteers; and communicating with the Song of the Morning kitchen to coordinate effective use of available produce.
In the Summer months, our garden produces food for our vegetarian kitchen, as well as for our bustling, high-energy YogaFest in July. All interns will also be asked to perform any number of various tasks according to the moment to moment needs of the retreat center, including assuming a daily role in community chores, housekeeping and dish washing. All interns will also be given a leadership role during YogaFest, depending on their skillset and the needs of the festival. Anyone interested in deepening his or her experience working as a team in a vibrant, spiritually driven environment is most welcome to apply!
