Web Developer

Provide in-house analytical and programming support for the company's public eCommerce web site and is responsible for ensuring successful daily site operation without serious interruption. Perform programming tasks according to established departmental standards and thoroughly tests the operation of complete programs and linkage to other programs. Also responsible for creating and maintaining stored procedures and other SQL-based objects as well as providing day-to-day programming support of assigned systems in both the problem solving and new project environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug existing code/programs.
  • Design program logic to meet specifications and to adheres to prescribed standards.
  • Code programs in authorized language.
  • Assist in system design.
  • Keep the Project Leader, eCommerce informed verbally and in writing of activities and problems within assigned area of responsibility and refer matters beyond limits of authority to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Prepare test data and tests coded programs to validate accuracy.
  • Document programs according to installation standards.
  • Provide on call support on a rotation schedule.
  • Analyze requests for programming assistance and determines how to provide timely and effective support.
  • Fulfill administrative reporting requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, 1+ year experience in web application development using Microsoft .NET or Java and 1+ year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database. Strong analytical, organizational skills and the ability to problem solve, multitask, prioritize and work independently. Excellent communication, and time management skills.

Preferred: 2+ years of web application development using Microsoft .NET or Java. Experience developing in a C#/ASP.NET MVC environment or with Mercurial or other version control software. Experience with IoC, inversion of control, and Unity or using an ORM, object-relational mapping, such as nHibernate or Entity a plus. Previous development experience working on a high-volume, eCommerce website.
