Research Post Doc Fellow - Division of Pulmonary Medicine and The Center for Lung Research

The Division of Pulmonary Medicine and The Center for Lung Research at CHOP are dedicated to understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying lung diseases. Ongoing studies in the Zepp laboratory are aimed at understanding how cellular fate is regulated and how cells respond to environmental inputs. The Zepp lab is translating these findings to better understand and identify molecular targets in lung diseases. The Zepp  lab takes a comprehensive approach that includes genetic mouse models, three-dimensional in vitro cell culture, live imaging, molecular and transcriptomic profiling to interrogate novel cellular processes.

In close collaboration with Dr. Zepp  and other members of his lab, the post-doctoral fellow will investigate how cell fate is regulated in the poorly understood mesenchymal compartment of the lung. These studies would incorporate cutting edge techniques and complex mouse genetics to map the lineage fates and molecular controls in subsets of fibroblasts. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, promotes a scholarly environment and is highly creative. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as Biochemistry, Cellular and/or Developmental Biology, Physiology or Pharmacology and a strong background in techniques relevant to these fields.
