Robotics Engineer Intern
The Robotics Engineer Intern is responsible for developing robotics curriculum and instruction for educational/training products. The REI utilizes mechanical and electrical knowledge to program and create lab exercises using robots, sensors, vision, and various automation equipment. He/She must manage and coordinate tasks to complete projects. The REI may provide input for new projects. The Robotics Engineer Intern must be detail oriented and able to work in a team environment. We are seeking interns who can learn quickly and are interested in robotics and automation.
Responsibilities:
Robotics Engineer Intern primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with engineers on developing curriculum for educational and training of robotics products
- Programming robots, vision systems, sensors, and other automation equipment for tasks used in curriculum and training
- Analyze and modify current lab exercises to ensure a quality and proficient work process
- Formulate ideas for additional STEM products and design them
- Programming robots using simulation software and directly at the control
- Develop procedural documentation to be used internally as well as for customers.
- Accurately document all procedures, testing, and results
- Help organize and maintain a technical library and ICARUS database for all projects
- Support marketing team to develop sales tools such as brochures, articles, social media posts etc.
- Execute required testing for troubleshooting and diagnostic proposes.
- Present and demonstrate products, services, and technologies in person and online (video).
- Use of ICARUS for knowledgebase, document, and product information
- Collaboration with engineering team on electrical and mechanical design for projects
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Junior or Senior pursuing bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience/interest in: robotics, CNC, control systems, power electronics, and other industrial machinery preferred
- Must be able to read diagrams and schematics
- Knowledge and operational skills in electronics and mechanics combined with competency in computer programming and software applications
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word is required
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Speak, read, and write English specific to the nature of the work
