Technical Buyer/Supply Chain

KEB America, Inc. is seeking a Technical Buyer for our Purchasing department.  

The Technical Buyer is responsible for improving quality and reducing costs through negotiation and coordination with international and domestic vendors. This position is responsible for providing support to manufacturing, sales, engineering, quality and accounting departments as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up and maintain main data in SAP
  • Generate, create, alter, and cancel purchase orders
  • Obtain and enter purchase order confirmations from suppliers to SAP
  • Coordinate with suppliers and KEB departments for direct or indirect material
  • Determine whether air freight or sea freight is necessary for goods coming from international vendors
  • Obtain quotes for and source items / services
  • Update purchase orders to reflect up-to-date information regarding the status of inbound goods to KEB America
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Follow up on or expedite purchase orders
  • Create and update vendor information
  • Assist in the part change process
  • Assist in new part creation
  • Purchasing, procurement, or planning projects/tasks as assigned
  • Follow safety rules and keep clean/orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned


Education / Experience

  • B.S. with an emphasis in business, supply chain, engineering (or other related fields of study) or Minimum of three years of experience in a related field.
