Food Systems Transformation | Social Impact | Consulting

Role Description
We are pleased to be offering multiple internships this summer and fall. In addition to co-created internal projects, interns will provide direct support to our founder in her role as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Transformation Leaders Network, advancing the objectives of 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit to promote systems leadership and networks of collective action, enhance scaling-up positive impact of game-changer initiatives around the world, and create a dynamic nexus of networks to self-organize, foster dialogue and harness collective systems change globally.

Who You'll Work With
You'll work as part of a start-up team, collaborating to shape a bold new business. Depending on the timing of your internship, you may also work with clients to address complex issues facing food systems.
 
When you join Food Systems Foresight, you are joining a consulting collaborative right at its start. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with seasoned professionals to meet the needs of food systems leaders grappling with the high profile and high stakes challenges facing our food systems.
 
What You'll Do
You’ll work remotely and often independently. You may also work in teams of 2–3 consultants. In all cases, you will be playing a leading role in an internal project that you co-create. You may have a supporting role in client engagement as schedules permit.
 
You’ll gain new skills, such as systems thinking and strategic planning, and build on the strengths you bring to the collaborative. Some examples of the specific work may include creating processes and guidelines, interviewing stakeholders and experts, building maps and models, and delivering presentations. Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Drafting project proposals
  • Researching potential clients and developing engagement strategies
  • Enhancing FSF’s social media strategy
  • Drafting public communications (emails, website updates, etc)
 
You’ll determine the length of your internship, though we ask for a minimum commitment of 10 weeks. We are open to working with individuals across different time zones.

We are offering a small stipend commensurate with internship duration. If your educational institution allows you to obtain academic credit for internships and fieldwork we are happy to support.
