Summer Internship: Nonprofit Storytelling

E2AC’s Nonprofit Storytelling internship brings together students, important causes, and the power of story. As part of our larger, year-round E2AC Ambassador program, each student will learn what it takes to research, identify, produce, and create a story for a cause that matters - with a tangible impact to affect change.

All participants in our program earn an E2AC certification in Nonprofit Storytelling: what it takes to identify the right story, find appropriate funding, promote your project, and tell it with empathy in order to entertain, educate, engage, and inspire.

Prior projects have included video series of patient stories for a rare disease nonprofit based in Boston and podcast documentary series with a civil rights leader in Minneapolis.

Program info:
  • Each student is grouped into teams of 3 to 4 peers based on interest and specialty.
  • Each team project is supervised by a professional Creative Supervisor: pros who work in the field of content production and help mentor the students, provide training and feedback, evaluate progress, and connect students to fellow professional Creatives.
  • Each team communicates via shared Google Drive and Slack channels.
  • Teams will have weekly Zoom meetups with their teams and supervisor to go over updates and deliverables.
  • Each week will feature a large team Zoom with E2AC's Executive Director, Board members, and all participants to meet one another and exchange ideas and information on projects and progress.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include outreach to nonprofit organizations; production of content for audio, visual, and future live entertainment; creation of marketing and fundraising plans for nonprofit partners to ensure production.
  • Time commitment is approximately 15-20 hours per week, with possibility for increased time based on interest, need, and/or qualification for academic credit or external stipend.
  • Timeline is June to August (10 weeks) with option to continue into Fall semester on a case by case basis.

Additional info:
  • At the end of summer, interns will have the opportunity to run for a leadership position in our national Campus Ambassador Program, with roles of President, VP-Student Recruitment, VP-Fundraising, and VP-Community Outreach.
  • This will be more fun than anything else you’re applying to. (We’re biased, but still.)
