Product Marketing Intern - Summer 2021

Applied Materials’ Supplier Strategic Sourcing Group (SSTG) is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2021! This is a great intern opportunity to learn this industry and be a part of the team that is building and implementing transformational supply chain strategies that optimize technology creation, sustainability, affordability and velocity within the supply chain to deliver significant impact for leading architectural elements. Applied Materials’ SSTG team is looking for a motivated college intern to join their team.  The position will entail the following:

  • Support the SSTG Value Capture Specialist in analyzing and estimating the cost savings by looking at Materials, Engineering Efficiency etc.
  • Create relevant dashboards for tracking the value capture per business unit by product type and by program type
  • Work with business units to track the forecasted value capture with actual results
  • Identify value capture process improvements and ensure newly created business processes / methodologies are incorporated into Applied Materials operating rhythm.
  • Design and implement new business processes and methods to link all relevant technical, business, commercial and legal documents for each strategic program so that the information is easily searchable and can be easily audited.

Requirements

  • Student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree program in a business or a technical field such Engineering, Physics or Chemistry
  • Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Strong working knowledge in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI); and Tableau
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, communicate complex ideas, anticipates potential objections
  • Problem-solving and creative thinking skills.  Able to solve unique and complex problems with broad impact and develop innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer
  • Quick learner
